A Series of Shoots with Angelica Velez Degro:

Artist Statement:
These shoots were both inspired by other pictures I had seen online. I really wanted to take advantage of natural lighting for both of theses shoots.  It was a sunny day  outside while shooting these and I thought it would be perfect for a shoot. For the shoot outside,  we took advantage of the wind to add some volume  to the models hair. We were going for more of a  fashion shoot with these and I think we did a good job of achieving the final result.
For the shoot inside, we were looking for more of a chill, relaxed vibe. The inspiration for these photos had a grainy, film look, so I added some grain and messed with some filters in order to get the desired effect.

Cyanotypes with Rheis Fitzpatrick:

Artist Statement:

These portraits where shot on mt digital camera then processed into cyanotypes. We shot these on a cloudy day at a park in Simi Valley. Since this was only my 2nd time doing cyanotypes, they’re not exactly perfect. One has too much contrast, one looks pretty good and one has too little contrast. I think this adds to the photos and really shows that there are little imperfections in life and that’s what makes the photo unique.

A Series of photos with Natalie Miranda:

Artist Statement:
My main goal for this shoot was to be able to work with and get comfortable working with the colored lights in this studio. We had just gotten this machine in to create different colored lights and I wanted to test them out. We wanted to work with light pastels for the color of the lights to match the models personality. I really liked how the lights turned out and I think it made the rest of the pictures of this shoot look super unique.
